Help / Field writing

PDF is missing findings, photos, or sections

The PDF is built from what was in the writer at generation time. If something is missing, one of these is the cause.

  1. Step 1

    Regenerate after any edits

The PDF is a snapshot. If you added findings, attached photos, or changed ratings after the last generation, regenerate from the writer. The report page shows the timestamp of the last generation — compare it to your last edit.

  2. Step 2

    Skipped sections do not print

If you marked a section as Not present or Not inspected in the writer, it is excluded from the PDF. That is by design. If a section was skipped by mistake, re-open the writer, un-skip it, add at least one note or finding, and regenerate.

  3. Step 3

Photos must be attached to findings

The PDF includes photos that are attached to a finding. Photos in the inspection media pool that are not attached to any finding are not included. Open the finding, attach the photo, and regenerate.

  4. Step 4

Section filter generates a partial PDF

The PDF endpoint accepts a section filter for generating individual section PDFs. If you used the share page (QR code page) and downloaded a section PDF rather than the full report, only that section is included. Download the full report from the inspection page.

  5. Step 5

    Template controls which sections print

Report look in the template lets you hide certain body sections from the printed report. If a section is consistently missing across all jobs, open Templates, find your template, open Report look, and make sure that section is toggled on.
